Alberta location checks
For real-money play you must be physically located in Alberta, and this has to be confirmed — a typed address is not enough. Geolocation is one of the requirements set by Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) for registered operators, together with identity and age verification.
Depending on your device, one or more of these signals may be used:
IP Address
The network address of your connection gives a first indication of region and helps detect VPNs and proxies.
Device Geolocation
With your permission, the browser or app shares the location reported by your device.
Wi-Fi Location
Nearby Wi-Fi networks help pinpoint your position, especially indoors and on laptops.
Mobile Location Services
On phones and tablets, GPS and mobile network data confirm your location more precisely.
Checks run when you log in and are repeated during a session; if you move outside Alberta, real-money games are paused. Location data is used only to meet these requirements and is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
The location check must meet AGLC requirements. Using a VPN, proxy or location-spoofing software to get around it is not allowed and may lead to account restrictions.
